Parental and Family Therapy
Santa Barbara, CA

Lisa Marie Jackson is a marriage and family therapist intern (IMF#61404) and an experienced group facilitator and clinician in inpatient/outpatient substance abuse treatment. She has worked at a variety of behavioral health and chemical dependency centers.
"Not everyone seeking help is ready to engage in a long term, intensive and deeply introspective experience. I build a trusting partnership and set reachable goals to address the client’s most pressing concerns. Whether the issue is troubled relationships, codependency, depression, anxiety, or overwhelming stress, I customize a treatment plan to remove roadblocks to a healthier life." |
Crisis Management
Unfortunately, parental and family crises often don't coincide with scheduled counseling sessions. Even if you're not a current client, you may want to come in when a crisis arises. These sessions are much more directive in nature because we focus on the next few steps you need to take to work through this critical moment. If new issues arise or the crisis continues, you and I will build upon these ad hoc sessions to help you navigate through these painful times. Because this is a key part of my practice, I leave openings in my schedule and can usually see you within 24 hours. There is no need to commit to a long term treatment plan. |
Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, and Syracuse University, earning BA and MBA degrees. She was CEO of a federal credit union and a Controller with Electronic Arts. She is also the author of Lost, Found and Forgiven: How One Mother Prevailed Against Teenage Rage and Brought Her Daughter Home Again. Lisa's book chronicles her deeply personal and protracted struggle with a self destructive teenager and provides the context for her family practice.
It is this combination of clinical, parental and executive experience that Lisa calls upon to provide a truly unique and powerful connection to individuals and families in distress.
